Those Jesus words again

Keith has encapsulated the ethos we should live by

musingsofanoldfart

We Christians like the words so much we called them the golden rule. It is not one of ten rules, but one simple overarching rule espoused by that Jesus fellow. To me, if we do that one thing, we will better for it.

Paraphrasing it simply says treat others like you want to be treated. It is so simple and yet so profound. And, it is universal with variations findable in other religious texts. It is so universal, even atheists and agnostics can see its wisdom and adopt its governance.

Yet, the golden rule is not caveated. It does not say, treat all Christians like you want to be treated. It does not say treat fellow citizens like you want to be treated. It does not say treat people of the male gender like you want to be treated. Nor does it say treat only heterosexuals like you want to…

Christchurch shootings: 49 dead in New Zealand mosque attacks

Write your messages of Hope, Peace, Tolerance, Respect and Compassion. Light your word candles and hold them high against the darkness of ignorance, fear and hate.

Even through your pain and anguish post up your daily accounts of your own experiences be they, even if they are the humorous one you had planned a day ago. Remind us there is a lighter side to Life.

Write of your own achievements in a joyous way, so that we may share them and be thus blessed.

Write and never stop writing. Honour the slaughtered innocents with your words. Write of Love, Triumph of Good over Evil, Reconciliation, extol Hope, praise Light.

If your burn with anger, forge in its bright heat the steel of condemnation of all that breeds Hate. Let the world know you will not be taken in by these warped messages which foul the world. Send out your messages of support to those persecuted.

Write. Write your bright words. Lest the travesties and the bastardisations of the Hate Mongers take hold amongst the credulous and become the only and debased currency.

Write.

Write.

What are we doing if we aren’t growing?

No, seriously, I really would like an answer.

I mean, we were meant to express ourselves by growing and expanding, right?

In my mind, staying stagnant is tantamount to The Beatles’ description of a “real nowhere man sitting in his nowhere land.”

How sad is that?

Frankly, I don’t think that anyone desires to remain exactly the same as she/he has always been.

Everybody has something that they aspire to; even if they have no idea how to get to that something.

And so…

With that said, I have spent the past few years thinking about all of the things that I would like to have, do and be.

I asked myself, “To what do I aspire?”

Believe it or not, starting a blog was one of those things…so we can go ahead and add that to my imaginary…

GA. Democratic Lawmaker Drafts Her Own Testicular Bill In Response To GOP Anti-Abortion Law

This is a wonderful piece. It says it all

Gronda Morin

I couldn’t resist sharing the following piece in full as it just hit home for me. A Democratic Georgian female legislator has obviously reached her limit in having to fight off GOP’s attempts to to control the lives of women’s bodies. She has decided to return the favor to her male colleagues who seem to be overly obsessed with women’s private parts as they attempt to draft new more restrictive anti- abortion laws, with her own legislation that she has introduced to restrict men’s testicular activities.

Here’s the rest of the story…

On March 12, 2019, Laura Clawson of the Daily Kos penned the following report, ‘Georgia Democrat responds to anti-abortion bill with ‘Testicular Bill of Rights’

“Georgia Republicans are at it again, trying to control women’s bodies through the law—but this time, state Rep. Dar’shun Kendrick is replying in kind with her “Testicular Bill of Rights” showing…

The Dangerous Women

My from good friend Sha’ Tara. A true anthemn for Women

~Burning Woman~

[a late night poem,  by  ~burning woman~   ]

Who are these dangerous women?
The ones who bring back
the love of their dead men!
The ones who bring back
the laughter of their lost children!
The ones who bring back
the dreams of their estranged sons!
The ones who bring back
the hopes of their enslaved daughters!
The ones who remake the world.

We are the dangerous women
And we have returned
with destruction in our hands
to shatter the Patriarchy!
Welcome us or reject us,
why should we any longer care
how we are perceived?
or received?
In our hands is Life’s Power!
