  1. Quote: */”/**/What is wrong with you people????”/*  You are asking the same question I’ve been asking ALL of my adult life. I feel a rant coming on, so I will not comment further… except to say I heart-breakingly empathize with you here.

    1. Quite Sha’ Tara.
      That was my rant.
And the same day the news comes in that 11 died in a suicide bombing at a East Afghanistan cricket match!
What can I say, I can’t. I’m slightly incoherent with rage and grief.

As in the quote from the movie, “The Milagro Bean field War” – ‘why is it that every time we’re mad at them, we end up hurting each other?’

      2. Once more I can relate Sha’ Tara.
Yesterday evening I was working myself up into a fury over the hypocrisies occurring in the British political left (long story).
Then I went to Mass and listening to a powerful homily from our Tanzanian priest on Love, and I thought…. ‘Argh..I’m doing it again! ‘My Intolerance of Intolerance is getting visceral again’
It is indeed a spiritual battle.

      3. Hi Roger.  The true spiritual battle is not only endless, it increases in intensity the more we engage it. “They” say that what you resist, persists. “They” may be right about that but when it comes to this battle, there is no way I will ever put down my “full armour of God” as I learned it and however I translate that to mean in my present understanding. The problem with our Earthian/human civilization is that a majority of people have stopped fighting “the good fight” and instead are increasingly turning blindly and stupidly against each other. That is how the war is lost.

Ep. 6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ep. 6:13 Therefore put on the full armour of God so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

(And an appropriate reminder for me as well as I prepare my “rig” for another volunteer gig with Mennonite Disaster Service up in Williams Lake – about 600 km from here. Rebuilding uninsured housing lost to last year’s fires. The best way I have found to “fight the good fight” is to get creative about freely serving others in need, whatever that need be.)
